How did we start?

California, 2036. Seeing the paths the mankind are taking, the future does not seem bright. Considering the natural phenomenas as heat waves, wildfires, drought, water pollution it is certain that food resources, humans primary lifeline, will be affected severely. The future sounds so catastrophic but us, humans are survivors, we are selfish creatures that will turn the world around and adapt, just to make things work for us. It’s in our DNA, survival of the fittest and humans shall survive.
With the data at hand imagining how climate change will affect the life in 2036, it seems dark. As Studio 54, we imagined the future where people take nutrition in pills, consume flavored mashed goop, and bite into frozen flakes as food, as well as many more strange but efficient ways to keep themselves alive. Not having the simplest pleasure of eating fresh food seemed dreadfully depressing to us.
So we ended up developing our product, Delick.

What are the people of 2036 missing in their lives?
Pleasure
If there is one thing that everybody loves it’s good food, that’s the easiest doorway to happiness. With the changes expected in food culture in 2036 this key to happiness is sure to be thrown at the bottom of the ocean. With pills and mashed food humans will be stripped from their tradition of meals and just accelerate consumerism in the sake of survival. We aim to capture the familiarity of the food people are used to today with incooperating texture in our design. Our main focus is to twist around this bland future of the food culture and keep the essence of surprises and turn meals something to take pleasure out of again.
When pleasure is in concern one thing comes to mind, sex. And what’s better than sex to connect these cut out lifeline cords?
Research shows good food has similar neural pathways as good sex. They both trigger similar stimuli in human brain and cause the release of dopamine, a hormone that signals cravings.
We did a long research on bdsm to understand how they bring about pleasure and how they use it. We decided to turn our results into a service for our users to enjoy better.

The product
We believe that eating can be seductive again

Our product consists of a transformable sheet of
pulp paper, on which different textures are applied
and covered by a thin layer of plastic.
The shape must satisfy several characteristics:
• It must take up little space in the packaging;
• It must be foldable into a shape suitable for
containing food;
• It must be easily understandable and executable;
• It must have an ergonomic shape to the hand;
• It must be balanced if placed on a flat surface;
• It must be large enough to allow textures to be
embossed.
Our product and service promise to pleasure the user in a way they never experienced before. Human body and mind are never-ending explorations, we aim to explore it further by stimulating senses and body parts in combinations that remain uncharted. The sensations that are received through the textures sliding on ones tongue and the provocative yet primitive act of licking were our start point. Combining these with the human ego and control mechanism are our driving force.

User manual
As you can have monthly or weekly memberships, we have a supply system that you can always reach physically, such as a supermarkets, DELICK kiosks, vending machines and sex shops. With subscriptions that you can make through online, there will be delicks of different textures in a box that you will receive. And of course, our users will have the chance to obtain textures suitable for the theme that changes monthly. Also, you can find single DELICKs in the restaurants, kiosks or vending machines.
Types of subscription:
• Monthly, 50 delicks with different textures;
• Weekly, 30 delicks with diffent textures;
• Personalized, a number of delicks according
to users preferences.
Delick has a service app for discover new textures, for play the podcast game and for follow orders.

The podcast
This podcast experience is an optional yet indulging service provided for Delick users.It is created to yield Delick as a fully immersive pleasure experience for the user and aims to form an intimate connection between the user and the product and leads them to an ending they desire yet don’t know they do. The podcast is built upon an interactive platform where the user is given the choices to create their unique path every time and result according to their current mood. The experience targets to let the user uncover and encounter their deepest desires and cravings. The app also synchronise with other Delick users close by so the users can have this experience alone or with company as they please.
